Who I am and how to reach me

I'm Maga Emanuela, a Women's Empowerment and Embodiment Coach and Yoga Facilitator based in Bristol. When you share your information with me, I hold it with the same care I bring to our time together.

For this website and my offerings, I am the data controller, which means I decide how your information is used and I'm responsible for keeping it safe.

  • Name: Maga Emanuela

•      Email: hello@magaemanuela.com

If you have any questions about your information, please write to me. I'm always happy to talk it through.

What information I collect

I only ask for what I need to welcome you, hold space for you safely, and stay in touch if you'd like me to.

•      Contact details: your name and email address when you book, buy, enquire or join my mailing list.

•      Booking details: the classes, circles, sessions or ceremonies you book, your attendance, and any passes or memberships, held through Momoyoga.

•      Payment details: payments are handled securely by Stripe through Squarespace and Momoyoga. I never see or store your full card number.

•      Messages you send me: anything you share by email, contact form or direct message.

•      Website activity: pages visited, device and browser type, and how you arrived, gathered through cookies and similar technology, but only where you agree (see Cookies below).

Health and wellbeing information

Before yoga classes, 1:1 sessions, menstruality mentorship or ceremonies, I may ask about your health, injuries, pregnancy, your cycle or your emotional wellbeing. I ask so I can offer practices that are safe and supportive for you.

This is especially sensitive information, so I only collect it with your explicit consent, which I'll ask for clearly at the time. Sharing it is always your choice, and you can withdraw your consent whenever you like by letting me know.

I keep this information private, I never use it for marketing, and I never share it with anyone else unless the law requires it or someone's life is at risk.

How I use your information

The law asks me to name a lawful reason for each way I use your information. Here they are (why I do and why it’s allowed)

  • Take your booking, payment and attendance: to fulfil our agreement (contract)

  • Send booking confirmations, reminders and changes: to fulfil our agreement (contract)

  • Hold your health and wellbeing information: your explicit consent

  • Send my newsletter and news of offerings: your consent, which you can withdraw anytime

  • Show my offerings to people on Facebook and Instagram, and measure my ads: your consent, through the cookie banner

  • Reply to your messages and enquiries: my legitimate interest in answering you

  • Keep financial and tax records: legal obligation

Who I share it with

I never sell your information. I work with a small number of trusted services that help me run my practice, and they only use your information on my behalf.

Services and what they do for me:

  • Squarespace: hosts my website, contact forms and online shop

  • Stripe: processes card payments securely

  • Momoyoga: manages class bookings, passes and attendance

  • Flodesk: sends my newsletter

  • Meta (Facebook and Instagram): measures and shows my ads, only if you accept marketing cookies

I may also share information with my accountant for tax purposes, or where the law requires it.

Cookies and the Meta pixel

Cookies are small files saved on your device when you visit a website. When you first arrive, a banner lets you choose which ones you're happy with, and you can change your mind at any time through the Cookie Preferences button at the bottom of every page.

•      Essential cookies keep the site working, for example your basket and checkout. These are always on.

•      Analytics cookies help me understand, in general terms, how people use the site so I can improve it.

•      Marketing cookies, including the Meta pixel, tell Meta when someone visits my site or makes a booking. This helps me show my offerings to people who may find them meaningful and see whether my ads are working. These only run if you choose to accept them.

Saying no to marketing or analytics cookies will never stop you booking or buying.

My newsletter

I'll only send you my newsletter if you've chosen to join it. Booking a class doesn't sign you up automatically. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also simply reply and ask me to remove you.

Information stored outside the UK

Some of the services I use, such as Squarespace, Stripe and Meta, may store or process information outside the UK, including in the US or the EU. Where this happens, they use recognised legal safeguards, such as the UK's approved data transfer agreements, to keep your information protected to UK standards.

How long I keep it

I keep your information only for as long as it's needed, then delete it with care.

  • Booking and attendance records: 2 years after your last booking

  • Health and wellbeing information: 12 months after our last session, or sooner if you ask

  • Payment and financial records: 6 years, as required for tax

  • Mailing list details: until you unsubscribe

  • Messages and enquiries: 2 years after our last contact

Your rights

Your information belongs to you. You have the right to:

•      ask for a copy of the information I hold about you

•      ask me to correct anything that's wrong

•      ask me to delete your information

•      ask me to limit or stop using it, or object to how I use it

•      withdraw your consent at any time

•      ask for your information in a form you can take elsewhere

To use any of these rights, email me at hello@magaemanuela.com. I'll respond within seven working days.

If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, I'd love the chance to put it right first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
